On a recent visit, I was impressed by the quality of the food and the warm atmosphere at Duk Kee. The diced winter melon soup was a comforting start to the meal, and the kau yuk with taro was a flavorful and satisfying main course. The steamed fish with ginger onion was delicate and perfectly cooked, while the pan-fried string bean with pork offered a nice balance of flavors.

We decided on Duk Kee using DoorDash delivery. We ordered Gon Lo Mein, Orange Chicken, Crispy Gau Gee, Ginger Onion Chicken. The Gon Lo Mein is just the right flavor with the combination on noodles and meat. The quantity of noodles was great for our family. The Orange Chicken looked good but the sauce and texture of the chicken was only fair. The Crispy Gau Gee looked and tasted great! The Ginger Onion Chicken also tasted great! We opted for DoorDash delivery and the order was delivered late not because of the delivery person, but the delivery person had to wait half an hour for the food to be finished being prepared. The order for the food was put in a few hours earlier. Overall, the Gon Lo Mein, Crispy Gau Gee, and Ginger Onion Chicken were great, something we would order again. The Orange Chicken was only fair, we would not order this again.
The food was good, and also the quantity! Was told about this place by my former employer, he always goes there.
EXCELLENT KAU YUK with TARO !!! I ordered the Kau Yuk, Minute Chicken with cake noodle and one order of crispy gau chee. I didn't care too much for the Minute Chicken but it's good that they don't add a lot of msg. Of everything that I ordered my favorite was the kau yuk ... nice flavor with good balance of pork and fat. The taro was nice and soft ... just the way I like it. I used DoorDash so I can't comment on the service.
We did take out; Salt and pepper pork chops (could have used more salt and pepper), cold ginger chicken, honey walnut shrimp, and stir fried vegetables. No rice or noodles this time, im diabetic. There was plenty for two of us with leftovers for tomorrow night. The food was ready when they said, and they got the order right. I don't claim to be an expert on Cantonese food but I enjoyed it.
Excellent food and service! Duke Kee is located on 12th Avenue in Kaimuki, near Hale Vietnam. My dining partners thoroughly enjoyed the food! Judging from the full tables, so do many others. We ordered diced winter melon soup #3, kau yuk w/ taro #77, steamed fish w/ ginger onion #46, pan fried string bean w/ pork #84, pork w/ sweet sour cabbage #88. We are already planning our return visit lol!
